PD: Woman Cited After Causing Disturbance at Darien Library

The woman allegedly yelled profanities in the presence of children after being banned from the library.

DARIEN, CT- A Stamford woman was issued a summons after she allegedly caused a disturbance at the Darien library after getting notified she would be banned for 30 days.

Police were dispatched to the library on March 3 and met with the library director who said Megan Oddis-Switzer, 50, began yelling after the notice.

She had made a scene earlier in the day and yelled at staff, police said.

She told officers the library had no right to ban her. Officers informed her she was wrong and she said the officers were part of the problem and couldn't make up the law, police said.

Oddis-Switzer was issued a misdemeanor summons for second-degree breach of peace. Police learned she had two outstanding warrants from Westport Police related to failure to appear for criminal trespass charges. She was handcuffed and taken into custody.
