Playgrounds At Several Darien Parks Have Been Reopened
People who use the playgrounds are reminded that those facilities will not be sanitized.
DARIEN, CT — Reopening efforts in Darien are continuing with playgrounds opening up at several local parks, officials announced. Town facilities, local businesses and schools were closed in March in an effort to fight the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
People who use the playgrounds are reminded that those facilities will not be sanitized. Additionally, users are urged to continue social distancing efforts.

All playgrounds will re-open at the following parks:
Cherry Lawn
Baker
McGuane
Weed Beach
Please keep the following in mind when using the playgrounds:
· The playgrounds will not be sanitized
· Use with caution
· You should follow CDC health and safety guidelines
· Practice social distancing
· Wear a face mask if you can’t keep 6 ft. apart
· Wash hands before and after using play equipment
Friday, June 26th
· Picnic areas will re-open at all parks . Picnic benches and grills will be put back. Facility Permit applications must be approved for gatherings. Applications can be found on-line at www.darienct.gov/parkrec under the forms tab. All safety guidelines must be followed, along with maintaining appropriate social distancing.
· The Paddle Hut at Weed Beach will re-open. Per the Governor’s order, gatherings of 25 or less may be allowed inside. Facility Permit applications must be approved for inside gatherings. Applications can be found on-line at www.darienct.gov/parkrec under the forms tab. All safety guidelines must be followed along with maintaining appropriate social distancing.
· Outdoor exercise equipment can be utilized at Weed Beach. Be advised that this equipment will not be sanitized. Please wash hands before and after using equipment.
· Daily Passes will be sold at our beaches. Credit cards only, no cash accepted.
