Police Arrest Darien Man on DWI Charge
It's the man's third DWI charge within 10 years.

Police arrested a man and charged him with his third DWI within 10 years.
An officer was on patrol June 6 around 8 p.m. when dispatch recieved a report of a BMW driving on a flat tire, police said.
The vehicle was stopped on Noroton Avenue near Park Place.

The officer noticed fresh damage to the left front bumper and the flat front tire.
John Roney, 54 of Darien said he hit a rock. He also told officers he had one pint at Papa Joe’s in Darien, according to police.

Officers allegedly smelled alcohol on his breath and he failed field sobriety tests. He refused to take a breathalyzer test.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated. He was previously charged with DWI in Stamford and Darien within the past 10 years.
