Police Find Stolen Car In Darien While Investigating Another: PD

DARIEN, CT — Darien police recovered a stolen vehicle in town while they were investigating a report of a stolen Mercedes Benz.

On Feb. 11 at 6:40 a.m., officers responded to a home on Pear Tree Point Road after a resident said she saw two men break into her Mercedes and steal it, police said in a news release. The woman said the car was unlocked with the key fob inside.

While officers positioned in the area near Long Neck Point Road, they could hear an engine revving and traveling towards their direction, police said.

The stolen Mercedes drove through a stop sign, and officers activated their lights and sirens and attempted to stop the car, police said. But the officers disengaged and did not attempt to follow the car after it refused to stop.

While canvassing the area, a stolen vehicle from Wethersfield, CT was recovered on Long Neck Point Road, police said.
