Popular NYC-Based Workplace Experience Company To Open Space In Darien
The company provides co-working and flexible office space. This represents the second location in Connecticut.
DARIEN, CT — Industrious, the popular New York City-based workplace experience company, is coming to Darien.
The company provides co-working and flexible office space, and will move into 12,245 square feet across floors one through four within The Corbin District and Ten Market Street, the sister building to One Market Street which is the development's primary office building.
Developed by Baywater Properties and located on seven acres in the heart of Darien, The Corbin District features a variety of shops and restaurants, as well as fitness options, offices and residential units.

"We have worked with the team from Industrious and their advisors for the last few years on this idea, and we could not be more excited about bringing this best-in-class, global operator of co-working space to Darien," said David Genovese, the founder of Baywater Properties, in an email to Patch this week.
Industrious says it works with companies from startups to Fortune 500s. Locations offer a variety of workspaces designed to accommodate the needs of companies of all sizes and stages.

According to Industrious' website, all shared workplaces include access to common areas such as cafés, meeting rooms, lounges, and wellness rooms.
These workspaces include offices and suites. Monthly membership plans from Industrious let workers work from the provided common areas everyday and also reserve a personal desk when necessary.
Space can also be booked by the day or hour.
Industrious members will have access to the Darien space in early October, according to an announcement.
The company was founded by two childhood friends, Jamie Hodari and Justin Stewart, who sought "to create a workplace that combined the flexibility and ease of co-working with the professionalism and attentiveness you’d expect when walking into a Fortune 500," the company's website says.
There are now more than 160 Industrious locations in 65-plus cities around the country and abroad. The Darien space will represent Industrious' second location in Connecticut. A location within Greenwich Office Park is set to open in June.
According to Genovese, the ground floor of Ten Market Street will serve as a reception area featuring Industrious' signature cafe and open space for casual meetings and socializing, with flexible offices and conference rooms available on the upper three floors.
"I have long had enormous respect for Justin Stewart and Jamie Hodari, co-founders of Industrious, and I am delighted that we were able to find a way to work together with them in this project," Genovese noted. "In terms of placemaking, having the premier operator of flexible office space in the heart of the project will add significantly to the vibrancy of The Corbin District."
The Corbin District development has spanned several years.
Genovese said in working with Bruce Beinfeld of Beinfield Architects, "our goal was to make The Corbin District the most attractive place to live, work, dine and shop in Fairfield County."
"For the last fifteen years we have carefully curated the ground floor tenancy of the project to include a mix of the best local and regional tenants, mixed in with tenants from New York City," Genovese added.
Genovese noted Barry's Bootcamp, Corsica Wine Bar, Millie's from Nantucket, Tatte Bakery, Hinoki, YogaSpark, Rhone, Saujette, La Source and Free People Movement, among others, will join Barrett Bookstore, The Darien Toy Box, Everything is Rosey, Wee Mondine and Sail to Sable.
One Market Street, located a short walk from Darien's Metro-North Train Station and near I-95, has received commitments from firms including McKinsey, AON, Balance Point Capital, Janney Montgomery Scott and Crestwood.
