Public Hearing Continues For The Commons At Noroton Heights Proposal

More than 120 apartments and 30,000 square feet of commercial space is planned for the site.

DARIEN, CT -- Tuesday night's public hearing for The Commons at Noroton Heights, a mixed use development where Stop and Shop and Walgreens currently sit, was continued to next week to address flood mitigation and other concerns at the site, reports the Darien Times.

The proposal by Federal Realty calls for the construction of 122 apartments and 30,000 square feet of commercial space, and is considered part of an overall redevelopment effort in the area.

Next week's Planning and Zoning Commission hearing, scheduled for June 13 in Town Hall, calls for discussion on traffic and parking, in addition to flood mitigation.
