DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department released its weekly crime summary update on Tuesday morning, and here are the latest happenings from around town.

Stolen vehicle, Jan. 31

Officers responded to a home on Deepwood Road at approximately 6:07 a.m. on a report of a stolen vehicle. A man told police his 2021 BMW X7 was parked in his driveway with the keys left inside, police said.

Motor vehicle burglary, Feb. 1

At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported motor vehicle burglary in the rear parking lot of a catering business in the 1400 block of the Post Road.

Officers found a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe with the driver's side window shattered, police said. Nothing was taken.

Trespassing, Feb. 1

Officers responded to a home on Greenleaf Avenue at approximately 5:56 p.m. on a report of a suspicious person who was captured on security footage the previous night, police said.

A person was seen tampering with a back patio camera before leaving and returning briefly, police added.

Commercial burglary, Feb. 2

A burglary alarm alerted officers to the Mobile gas station in the 200 block of the Post Road at approximately 3:34 a.m., police said, noting the front door showed signs of forced entry.

Surveillance video showed two people using a crowbar to break in, police said. Overall, $114 and merchandise were taken.
