Registration Open for Darien Road Race

The race will kick-off Sept. 13.

The Darien Road Race will kick-off on September 13 and registration is now open.

Races include a 10k and a 1.5 mile loop. It culminates in a finish line complete with music, games, food trucks, a dunk tank, sponsor booths and an award ceremony. It will take place at Pear Tree Point Beach.

The race has raised more than $950,000 over the years to benefit The Community Fund of Darien. All money raised will benefit nonprofits and community initiatives in the Darien area.

“We are thrilled to be hosting the 36th running of this beloved Darien race,” said Carrie Bernier, Executive Director of The Community Fund of Darien. “The Darien Road Race brings together families, athletes and adults young and old to celebrate the spirit of our community and support a great cause.”

The fee is $40 ($45 on race day) and $15 for children 12 and under. The first 400 registrants will receive an official performance t-shirt.

The race is made possible by local business sponsors and many wonderful volunteers. The lead sponsors for the 2015 Darien Road Race are UBS, Eagle Point Credit Management, Tooher-Ferraris Insurance Group and Vineyard Vines. In addition, 2015 sponsors include: Baywater Properties, Christine Hamilton-Hall, CST 50, Darien Lawn and Tree Care, Darien Rowayton Bank, Darien Sports Shop, Fox Hill Builders, Halstead, Heights Pizza, Hutchinson Tree, Kumon, Merrill Lynch, Methodist Family Center, Moore Physical Therapy, Pure Barre, TD Bank, and Vavalas Deli.
