Revised Darien Downtown Zoning Changes Proposed

Baywater Properties came before the Planning and Zoning Board with a new proposal.

DARIEN, CT — Baywater Properties presented proposed zoning changes at the first Planning and Zoning meeting of the year.

Baywater's project would add 64 apartments, 97,000 square feet of retail space and 112,000 square feet of office space to downtown Darien, according to the Darien Times.

The maximum height would be 71 feet with building ranging from three to five stories.

There would be 749 parking spaces, but current regulations call for 1,328 spaces, according to the Darienite. A parking study found that only 609 spaces would be needed because 40 percent would be shared between office workers during the day and residents at other times.
