Darien's Annual Road Paving Projects Start Wednesday: Find Out Where

DARIEN, CT — A total of 21 roads in Darien are scheduled to be repaved this summer, beginning this week, the town's Department of Public Works announced.

The project is slated to begin on Aug. 9 and run through Aug. 25, weather permitting. Motorists are warned to use caution if driving through the areas, but avoid those roads if possible while the work is underway. Minor traffic delays are likely.

Emergency access will be available at all times, and police officers will be on-hand to direct traffic and assist residents during the project.

"Preparatory work will precede paving on all of the above roads," wrote officials in a statement. "Dates listed include milling and paving. Road surfaces will have raised structures during these dates."

Driveway access will be limited during paving operations. "However, no single driveway should be closed
for more than an hour. On street parking will be suspended during paving operations."

• Stony Brook Road: West Avenue to Leroy Avenue - August 9 to August 16
• Center Street # 1: Boston Post Road to Old Kings Hwy S. - August 10 August 16
• Center Street # 2: Center Street to Old Kings Hwy S. - August 10 to August 16
• East Lane: Old Kings Hwy N. to Cul de Sac - August 11 to August 17
• Point O’Woods Road South: Point O’Woods Road to Cul de Sac - August 11 to August 17
• Point O’Woods Road: Birch Road to Richmond Drive - August 11 to August 17
• Woods End Road: Sylvan Road to Cul de Sac - August 14 to August 18
• Dorchester Road: Stephen Mather Road to Brookside Road - August 14 to August 21
• Tower Drive: Mansfield Avenue to Cul de Sac - August 15 to August 21
• Woodway Road: Hoyt Street to Stamford City Limits - August 16 to August 21
