Roaming Dog Takes A Bite Out Of UPS Driver, Almost Attacks Darien Cops
The dogs, three of them, are at a home on Old Kings Highway North.

DARIEN, CT — A UPS driver claims one of three roaming dogs at a home on Old Kings Highway North in Darien bit him in the ankle this month when he made a delivery to the home, and nearly bit him again a couple of weeks later when he returned to the home, according to police.
"[The UPS driver] was attempting to deliver a package when he was chased off of the property by one of the dogs," wrote Darien police in a statement. "He further explained that when attempting to make a delivery to the same address on July 6th, one of the dogs bit his ankle. Officers noted that the deliveryman had a bandage on his ankle which he said was covering the dog-bite. The driver said the bite required stitches."
The driver told police that he didn't want to make a formal complaint pertaining to the bite, but wanted the department to know about the dogs and for the unnamed homeowners "to better secure the dogs for their and others’ safety."

Darien police officers nearly got a first hand view of just how scary the dogs are.
"Officers attempted to make contact with the homeowner, but as they neared the home the three dogs, resembling pit bulls, began to move towards officers," wrote police. "There was no fence on the property that would prevent the animals from roaming. The Officers decided it best to contact he homeowner by phone."
