Murphy started tweeting around 1 p.m. Dec. 31. Around 1:30 p.m. he wrapped up February after dozens of rapid tweets.
The senator has been a staunch advocate of gun control, especially after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown in December 2012, which left 20 children and six educators dead. The shooter killed his mother before committing the massacre and committed suicide before police could reach him.
