Series Of Car Thefts, Break-Ins Reported In Darien: Police

Police responded to seven reports from residents on July 27 alone.

DARIEN, CT — Darien police are investigating a series of car thefts and break-ins that have occurred around town over the last week or so.

On July 25 shortly after 4 p.m., officers were called to The Country Club of Darien where a man reported that his 2021 silver Porsche Cayenne S Coupe was stolen from the parking lot after he left it unlocked with the keys inside, according to police.

Officers responded to a flury of reports on July 27.

Around 6 a.m., officers responded to Long Neck Point Road for "suspicious vehicles" possibly stealing packages, police said.

An investigation found that suspects stole a 2022 Land Rover from Goodwives River Road, but the vehicle was later recovered at Pear Tree Point Beach, police added.

Whie officers were investigating, they learned that a 2021 Land Rover was stolen from Pear Tree Point Road overnight.

At approximately 7:39 a.m. on July 27, officers were called to Rebel Lane on a report of a 2021 Audi Q5 that was stolen overnight, police noted.

Less than two hours later, a resident on Pembroke Road reported their 2021 BMW X5 was stolen overnight, too, according to police.

Later that day around 1:15 p.m., officers went to Driftway Lane where a resident reported three vehicles were entered overnight and items were stolen, police said.

Also on July 27 at approximately 4:22 p.m., a resident on Hollow Tree Ridge Road reported that her 2024 Land Rover was stolen, with the keys left inside, police said. She also reported missing items from the vehicle.

Less than an hour later, a man reported his 2020 Audi S7 was stolen from Wee Burn Country Club, police said.
