Several Car Burglaries Reported In Darien: Police

Nearly all of the incidents involved unlocked cars, according to police.

DARIEN, CT — Several car burglaries have been reported in Darien recently, and nearly all of them involved unlocked cars, police said, noting that nothing has been reported missing at this time.

The first incident was reported around 11 a.m. on July 27 when Darien police officers responded to a home on Fox Hill Lane, police said.

On July 31 around 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a home on Harriet Lane. A resident there told police two of his cars were entered, and that one was unlocked, police said.

The other car was locked and had its driver's side window smashed out, according to police.

Also on July 31, police said a resident on Great Hill Road reported a burglary involving his unlocked car.

Police have repeatedly told residents to lock their cars at all times and take their belongings with them.
