Darien Sewer Main Repairs Set For Oct. 9 - 10: Update
The break was reported Thursday morning, Oct. 4.

DARIEN, CT — A sewer main break on the Post Road in Darien (Route 1) Thursday morning caused traffic delays, according the the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
The break occurred between Nearwater Lane and Rings End Road on the northbound side.
The town's Public Works Department has issued the following statement about the repair schedule, which is slated to take place next week:

The Town of Darien Department of Public Works will repair a sewer issue on the Post Road at the intersection of the Post Road and Garden City Road. Work will begin on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 7:00 PM and will continue through morning of Wednesday, October 10, 2018, weather permitting. We will reschedule to Wednesday, October 10, 2018 and Thursday, October 11, 2018 for weather related delays.
Darien Police will be present to assist motorist through construction area. Lane closures will be in effect however one lane will be available in both eastbound and westbound directions at all times. Traffic pattern on Post Road will be affected between Nearwater Lane and Rings End Road intersections. Please expect minor delays, limited access to some business’ or avoid traveling in this area if possible.
