Slideshow: The Blue & White Football Game

After a week of spring practices, the Darien football squad went head to head—with itself.

The Darien football team held its annual Blue & White scrimmage Saturday, capping a week of spring practices and giving an early glimpse into the shape of next year's squad. For the second time in a row, the game ended in a tie (7-7), which means the trophy will remain half white and half blue for another year. "To ask a group of teenangers to work their tails off during June, when all their friends are at the beach and there's no carrot or light at the end of the tunnel, it's kind of hard," coach Rob Trifone said Saturday. "Instead, I say you guys practice hard for eight or nine days and we'll have fun playing the game."
