Soapy Suds Found In Darien Fountain On Post Road: Police

Repairs for the fountain will cost $500, police said. This is the second incident involving soap in a fountain in the area this week.

DARIEN, CT — Soap and plenty of suds were discovered inside a fountain outside Darien Sport Shop on the Post Road earlier this week, according to police.

Sgt. Dan Skoumbros of the Darien Police Department said incident was reported at 4:33 a.m., on Aug. 14.

The reporting party said the repair cost to clean the fountain and pipes would be $500, Skoumbros said. No other information is available at this time.

Nearby in downtown Greenwich, a similar prank was found at a fountain in the Pickwick Plaza office complex on the morning of Aug. 15, police said, noting that soap was probably placed in the overnight hours.

Videos of soapy fountains around the country have been posted to TikTok, a social media app popular with young people.
