Speed Signs Stolen, Illegally Replaced On Road In Darien: Police
Police said they were notified on Sept. 22 that speed signs were missing from a road in town.
DARIEN, CT — Two speed signs were stolen from a road in Darien over the weekend and illegally replaced with signs denoting slower speeds, according to the Darien Police Department.
Police said they were notified on Sept. 22 at 9:30 p.m. that speed signs were missing from Garden City Road, a small, straight road off the Post Road near Noroton Avenue.
Officers checked and found two 25 mph signs were removed and illegally replaced with unofficial 15 mph signs.

Lt. Dan Skoumbros of the DPD said it was not known when the signs were taken. He noted there have been some complaints about speeding on Garden City Road.
An investigation is ongoing.
