"These threats were also overhead by a second party present at the home," wrote Darien police in a statement. "Rene was contacted by Darien officers and he declined to cooperate with the investigation. He later arrived at headquarters of his own volition and at that time denied speaking to the Victim on the phone or making any threatening remarks. Probable Cause was developed that Rene had made the phone call and threatened the Victim."

Rene was charged with first-degree harassment and second-degree threatening. He was released after posting a $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 7.
