Stamford Man Caught With BB Gun, Burglary Tools In Darien: Cops

The suspect was accompanied by a 17-year-old juvenile.

DARIEN, CT — A 19-year-old Stamford man - in addition to a 17-year-old juvenile also from Stamford - were arrested by Darien police last week after they were allegedly acting suspiciously and the 19-year-old was found with a BB gun and burglary tools, according to authorities.

Doudly Pierre, of Noble Street, and the 17-year-old were charged with multiple violations at about 11:40 p.m. on Sept. 16 on West Avenue near Ridgely Street. The 17-year-old's identity was not released due to his age.

"An off-duty Darien police officer alerted on-duty personnel to a pair of suspicious individuals walking on West Avenue near Ridgely Street," wrote Darien police in a statement. "The individuals were described as two males with bikes, wearing dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts. Officers found two males matching the description in the area. One identified as Doudly Pierre, and the other a 17 year old male juvenile from Stamford.

"While speaking with Pierre, the officer asked if he had any contraband on him. Pierre appeared nervous
and jittery, responding that he had something in his sweatshirt pocket but that it was 'not real.' The
officer reached into the pocked of Pierre’s sweatshirt and removed what appeared to be a bb-gun. Pierre
again stated that it was not real, although the officer noted it resembled a real firearm and had no obvious
markings on it indicating it was a bb-gun (i.e. - a red tip on the barrel). Also found on Pierre were several
pair of latex gloves and an unwound piece of metal wire which is commonly used to pick locks.

"While speaking with the juvenile suspect, it was determined that the bicycles that two individuals had
were stolen out of Greenwich. A small bag of marijuana was found on the juvenile. The juvenile and
Pierre were transported to headquarters."

At headquarters, Pierre allegedly admitted to police that he and the juvenile planned to go to a friend’s house in Norwalk and burglarize it.

"The plan was to have the juvenile enter the home and distract the friend while Pierre burglarized it," wrote police. "The latex gloves found on Pierre were so that he left no fingerprints. When asked about the bb-gun, Pierre stated it was for his protection. Pierre confirmed the bicycle he was in possession of was stolen from Greenwich."

Pierre was charged with:

  • Interfering with an Officer
  • Possession of Burglar’s Tools
  • Carrying Dangerous Weapon
  • Larceny, sixth degree
  • Conspiracy to Burglary, first degree

The juvenile was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to commit burglary, first degree
  • Larceny, sixth degree
  • Possession of less than 1⁄2 oz. Marijuana

Pierre was held in lieu of bail of $5,000 and was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 27. The juvenile male was released to a parent and was due in court this month.
