Paint Watercolor Greeting Cards and More in Art Classes at DAC

Darien Arts Center is offering new Visual Arts classes for adults that include Painting Greeting Cards in Watercolor and Draw & Paint the Still Life as You Like it! in addition to a Sip & Pour Acrylic Pours Workshop on Oct. 6. Kids' offerings include a Birdhouse Workshop at Naya this week and a Middle School Expressive Art class starting next week on Oct. 3. Registration for classes is ongoing at darienarts.org.

Painting Greeting Cards in Watercolor : Adults | Tues. 9:30am-12:30pm | Sept. 26-Oct. 17 | $250. Paint a memory of your vacation, a card for a friend or a holiday greeting with artist Kathie Milligan. Use both photographs and a step-by-step approach to create small paintings to keep or share. For all levels of ability.

Draw & Paint the Still Life as You Like it!: Adults | Wed. 10-11:30am | Sept. 20-Nov. 22 | $375.Join Nancy McTague-Stock on Wednesday mornings and have fun in the media of your choice. Work in the spacious and light-filled DAC Visual Arts Studio and learn in a collective and supportive individual environment. Bring along your own still life objects or photos, or work with the ones provided. For beginner to intermediate levels.

THIS WEEK FOR KIDS:
Birdhouse Workshop at NAYA: Thurs. Sept. 28 | 4:30-5:45pm. Kids from 5-8 years old can join us at Naya for our first workshop in the 'Kids Create Art & Eat NAYA Experiences' series! Decorate your own wooden birdhouse with paint pens, markers & more to make a unique and beautiful birdhouse! After creations are complete, kids enjoy their own delicious NAYA Kids Meal with their classmates. (Each child must be accompanied by an adult.) At NAYA, 146 Heights Road in Darien Commons.

NEXT WEEK FOR KIDS:
Middle School Expressive Art Group: For Grades 6-8. Tues. 5:15-6:15pm | Oct. 3-Nov. 21 In this exciting and unique class, students will be exploring, designing and creating art projects with all kinds of media that allow them to express themselves, finding their own voice and point of view. They will work on art projects that reflect their identity, incorporating stress relief in a relaxed atmosphere. Focus will be on the creative interpretation and process.

NEXT WEEK FOR ADULTS:
Sip & Pour Acrylic Pours Workshop: Fri. Oct. 6 7-9pm. Explore the techniques of this liquid painting method and be amazed at the beautiful abstract paintings you can create without any experience! Work on two canvasses, using a different pour technique for each, creating totally unique dreamscape images. Please feel welcome to bring your own wine or refreshments and remember to dress for mess! Light bites provided from NAYA, add a culinary dimension to the experience!
