State Tourneys: Boys Lacrosse Earns Class M 2-Seed
The Blue Wave girls lacrosse team, meanwhile, scores an 8th seed in the Division I tournament.

The Darien boys lacrosse team, which is seeking its sixth consecutive state championship after losing in the FCIAC playoffs for the second straight year, earned the No. 2 seed in the CIAC Class M state tournament.
The Blue Wave, 14-2 in the regular season, hosts No. 15 North Haven (7-9) in a first-round matchup on Thursday. If Darien wins, a possible showdown against FCIAC rival Wilton is looming in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
No. 7 Wilton (11-5) entertains No. 10 Fairfield Ludlowe (9-7) in a first-round game. The winner faces the Darien-North Haven survivor for a berth in the semifinals.

Darien's girls lacrosse team, which has won three consecutive state crowns, is seeded eighth in Division I (12-3). The Blue Wave open with a first-round contest against either No. 9 Cheshire (12-4) or No. 24 Barlow (7-9) on Thursday at 3 p.m.
Cheshire and Barlow square off in a qualifying game on Tuesday.

Here's a look at the schedules of the other Darien teams that made the state tournament in their respective sports:
Baseball -- Darien (8-12) snuck into the Class L tourney as the No. 25 seed and plays at FCIAC rival Fairfield Ludlowe ( 15-5), the No. 8 seed on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Should the Blue Wave spring the upset, the would face either No. 9 Rockville
(14-6) or No. 24 New Fairfield (9-11) in the second round on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. That game also would be on the road.
Softball -- Darien (16-4) is the No. 7 seed and hosts FCIAC rival New Canaan (8-12), the No. 26 seed, Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Should the Blue Wave advance, it also would host a second-round game Wednesday at 4 p.m. against either No. 10 Windsor (15-5) or No. 23 Fermi (9-11).
Boys volleyball -- The Blue Wave (12-6), which advanced to the FCIAC final for the first time in school history, earned a No. 5 seed in the Class M tournament and a bye into the quarterfinals. Darien plays at No. 4 Wolcott Tech (13-4), which also has a first-round bye, on Friday at 7 p.m.
Girls tennis -- Darien (12-4) is the No. 7 seed and plays a first-round matchup Tuesday at 3 p.m.. against either No. 10 RHAM (10-6) or No. 23 Torrington (9-9) RHAM and Torrington meet earlier in the day for the right to face Darien.
