Police along with school administrators quickly identified and located the student in question and determined there was no threat to the school or community, police said. The shelter-in-place order was lifted after a brief period and the school resumed normal operations.
"The Detective Division and Darien High School Administration are continuing to investigate the matter and remain committed to ensuring schools are safe," police added.
