SUV Stolen In Darien, Recovered In Bridgeport: Police
The unlocked vehicle was reported stolen on April 21 and was recovered the next day.
DARIEN, CT — A 2012 Ford Explorer was stolen out of a driveway on Beach Drive in Darien on April 21, and it was recovered the next day in Bridgeport, according to Darien police.
The theft was reported at about 5 a.m. when the owner heard and saw the unlocked vehicle being stolen out of the driveway. The keys also had been left inside of it, according to police.
"Officers responding observed the stolen vehicle traveling East on the Post Road near Beach Drive," Darien police said. "Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which caused the suspect vehicle to increase in speed in an attempt to elude apprehension. Due to the safety risks posed to officers and the public by continuing their efforts, officers terminated their attempt to effectuate a motor vehicle stop of the suspect vehicle."

The next day at about 8:15 p.m. Bridgeport police notified Darien authorities that the vehicle had been located on Harbor Avenue in Bridgeport.
