Talk Show Host Steve Wilkos Injured In Darien Crash

The one-vehicle crash occurred Sunday afternoon, Jan. 21.

DARIEN, CT — Tabloid talk show host Steve Wilkos was injured Jan. 21 when his vehicle hit a curb in Darien and flipped over onto its side, according to Darien police. The one-vehicle crash occurred eastbound on West Avenue near Turnabout Lane at about 4:20 p.m. Wilkos' vehicle slammed into the curb, then several utility poles and a tree. No one else was in the vehicle at the time.

Wilkos was treated at Stamford Hospital for his injuries and has since been released. A Darien resident, Wilkos was Jerry Springer's bodyguard before landing his own talk show that is filmed in Stamford.

He told TMZ that he normally wears glasses while driving, but did not have them on at the time. As he reached for them, he said he lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
