Teen Accused Of Depositing Stolen Checks: Darien Police
The total financial loss reported was over $327,000, police said.

DARIEN, CT — A New York City teenager accused of depositing stolen checks from Darien in 2021 was arrested last week, the Darien Police Department said.
On March 15, a Darien police officer went to CT State Police Troop C in Tolland to take custody of Alberto Ballenilla, 19, of the Bronx, N.Y., on an active arrest warrant that charged him with first-degree larceny.
The warrant stemmed from an incident on Dec. 8, 2021, when someone reported to the Darien Police Department that two business checks were stolen and fraudulently deposited into the wrong accounts, police said, noting that the total financial loss reported was over $327,000.
