Teen Charged After Darien Underage Drinking Party: PD

DARIEN, CT- A Swift Lane 18-year-old was charged after he hosted an underage drinking party, police siad.

Police arrived to the home May 20 shortly before midnight after getting an anonymous tip online about the party. Officers saw a male in front of the residence with a case of beer by his feet.

Many youths ran into the woods as officers approached the residence.

Inside police saw many beer cans, cups and other evidence that alcohol was being consumed, police said.

The 18-year-old said he didn't purchase the beer and that others brought it. His parents were out of town. He was charged with permitting a minor to possess alcohol.
