There'll Be sNOw Lacrosse This Weekend
DYLAX and DHS lacrosse players met Saturday morning to try to help mother nature melt the 1 1/2 to 2 feet of snow and ice on the turf fields
While this weekend was scheduled to be the start of the DYLAX season, mother nature’s relentless snow offerings this winter have both of Darien’s turf fields entombed in over a foot and a half of snow and ice. In anticipation of upcoming warm, sunny weather this week, members DYLAX and Darien High School lacrosse teams met at the turf fields Saturday to try to loosen up the the snow and reveal some turf to facilitate melting.
Unfortunately, the multiple layers of snow and ice proved too hard for the task. The Darien Rugby team, however, was determined to get in some early season practice time and held an informal practice on the snow covered turf.
