Opus for Person-to-Person Announces Sponsors for "Spring Fling: March Madras' Gala on March 28.

With final preparations underway for its largest fundraiser of the year, Opus for Person-to-Person announced the event sponsors for “Spring Fling: March Madras.” This preppy-chic meets college basketball themed gala will take place on Saturday, March 28 at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien. The Lead Sponsors are Carlson & Carlson Insurance Services and Halstead Property.
The benefit’s Gold Sponsors include Atlantic Residential Mortgage, Baywater Properties, Fiduciary Trust Company International and The Home Team – Sheree Frank & Doug Milne. Silver Sponsors are AKDO, Allstate Insurance, Callari Cars, First County Bank, The Glassmeyer Families, Kensett and Nola Physical Therapy, P.C. Other key sponsors include Abercrombie, Burns, McKiernan & Company Insurance, Inc., Fox Hill Builders, Landmark Financial Group, LLC, VAS Construction Inc. and Fairfield County Bank.
Returning as in-kind sponsors, Nielsen’s is the official florist, Palmer’s Bakery will provide desserts and Serendipity magazine is Media Sponsor. Callari Cars—which includes BMW of Darien, MINI of Fairfield County and Volvo of Westport—will serve as raffle and game sponsor. To highlight the theme, Just Madras will feature colorful linens and accessories.

“Live music, festive attire, madras cocktails and basketball fever will set the tone for Spring Fling: March Madras,” said Elizabeth Hole, Co-President of Opus for Person-to-Person. “What a perfect way to celebrate with friends, while impacting the lives of our neighbors in need.”
Proceeds from March Madras will go to Person-to-Person’s Emergency Assistance Program, which is the core of their services. This program provides gently used clothing, groceries for nutritious meals and financial assistance for rent, security deposits and utility bills for nearly 24,000 individuals from neighboring communities.

About Spring Fling: March Madras
The festivities will commence at 6 p.m. and will feature live music, basketball competitions that capture the excitement of the college playoffs, a golf contest, signature cocktails, a gourmet sit-down dinner and exciting live and silent auctions with exceptional packages. For those in madras attire, a prize will be awarded to the “Best MadDressed.” Guests will also have the chance to hit the dance floor with music provided by Booga Sugar, one of the Northeast’s most requested and high-energy party bands.
With over 40 extraordinary packages, the auction items offer something for everyone. Highlights include a California Wine Country escape, a Catered Clambake for 50 party guests, a Nantucket Wine Festival weekend and an “Old School” night at Bowlmor for 10 that includes transportation via school bus, drinks and appetizers, and even custom t-shirts and koozies for the party crew.
Tickets for Spring Fling: March Madras are expected to sell out, but a limited number of tickets remain. Details on purchasing tickets and attending the event are available on the Opus for Person-to-Person website: www.opus4p2p.org. The dress code is elegant preppy chic (madras welcome!): colorful cocktail attire for ladies and jackets for gentlemen.
