Tokeneke Hit by Several Burglaries, Gun Stolen

Police are investigating at least three burglaries, including one where a handgun was stolen from a residence.

Darien, CT- Police are investigating at least three burglaries in the Tokeneke section of town.

Burglaries occurred over the July 4 weekend and many victims were away for the long weekend.

An Arrowhead Way resident reported his home burglarized sometime between July 1 and 5. A window to the second-story master bathroom was smashed to gain entry, police said.

A safe was taken from the master bedroom that contained identification documents. It wasn't bolted down, police said.

Another safe that was bolted down in the master bathroom was taken. Inside was a 9mm Glock firearm.

Other burglaries

A residence on Cross Road was apparently burglarized in the overnight hours between July 3 and 4, but nothing was taken, police said.

A South Trail residence was burglarized sometime between July 1 and 5 when residents were away. Things were out of place in the home and there was moderate ransacking to the master bedroom.

Police are waiting for the residents to perform an inventory of items, but its suspected some jewelry may have been taken. There was no sign of forced entry.
