Juneteenth, a significant U.S. holiday, commemorates the day when the last enslaved individuals were informed of their freedom. It's a profound day for all Americans, reflecting our commitment to freedom and inclusion. Last week, as part of a Fairfield County initiative, I had the honor of signing a proclamation recognizing Juneteenth's importance. This proclamation, which was presented to the Black Catholic Apostolate in Bridgeport, can be found below. It serves as a reminder of our shared history and our continuous journey towards a more inclusive future.
