Town Plan Update in Works for Darien

A new town plan for Darien is in the works, and talks continue about what it should contain.

According to an article in the Darien Times, the Planning and Zoning Commission recently met to discuss downtown Darien and Noroton Heights.

The commission was joined by Glenn Chandler of Planometrics, who will begin the first draft of the updated Town Plan of Conservation and Development in the next few weeks.

State mandates require communities to update their town plan every 10 years, the Times reported.

During the meeting, Chandler told the commission that it was likely that downtown zoning would need to be changed to accommodate growth.
