Toy Drive Tuesday, Dec. 16, at I95-South Rest Stop in Darien
New toys and cash donations will be collected from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday at the Darien South service plaza off of Interstate 95.

An announcement from Project Service LLC, which runs the rest stops along Interstate 95 in Connecticut:
Connecticut Service Plaza, Inspirica Homeless To Home Charity, and Star 99.9 will host a Toy Drive on Tuesday, December 16th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the I-95 Darien Southbound Service Plaza. Star 99.9 will broadcast live from the event.
New toys and cash donations will be collected. The donations will go to local children during the holiday season.

“We are honored that we are able to host this year’s toy drive at our Service Plaza in Darien,” said Paul Landino, President and CEO of Project Service. “We have currently completed renovations on 19 Service Plazas. As more plazas begin to reopen we hope to continue to host more community events like this.”

Project Service LLC has a 35-year contract with the state to renovate and operate the service plazas on I-95, RT.15 and I-395. The 19 of 23 Service Plazas are open twenty-four hours a day. Each Service Plaza offers different food options; some of these options include Subway, McDonalds, and Dunkin’ Donuts.
Each Service Plaza also features an Alltown Convenience Store and an ExxonMobil gas station. The plazas have clean restrooms, free WiFi and backup power generators for use during power outages.
