Traffic Advisory Issued For Darien High School's Night Football Game, Sept. 15

The Friday night game is the Blue Wave's first under the lights.

DARIEN, CT — With Darien High School's football team set to play its first game under the lights, the police department says it will enforce traffic regulations and monitor security for the game on Friday, September 15. The Blue Wave plays against the Senators of Brien McMahon High School, and kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

"All traffic will enter the DHS campus from Noroton Avenue," wrote Darien police in a statement. "High School Lane and Nutmeg Lane will be closed to incoming traffic. Spectators are strongly urged to carpool as parking at the high school is limited."

Due to the large number of vehicles expected, parking regulations and designated tow away zones will be strictly enforced, according to the department. A handicap permit is required to park in the limited handicap parking spaces available. When parking capacity has been reached, Noroton Avenue extension will be closed to vehicular traffic.

"Spectators are reminded that the consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages on school property is not allowed per Darien Town Ordinance," wrote police. "This will be strictly enforced. No tailgating will be allowed on school property due to safety concerns and the large amount of vehicles and traffic that is expected."
