DARIEN, CT- A 19-year-old was charged with providing alcohol to minors after he was found to have hosted an underage drinking party, according to police.

Officers responded on June 25 to Althea Lane around 12:25 a.m. after a concerned citizen complained of two suspicious males with flashlights near a house that had previously been burglarized.

Police went to check whether the house was secure and found Natural Light beer cans on the grass and more empty cans in the driveway. They entered the rear of the property and found a table set-up to play beer pong and numerous empty and partially full beer cans, police said.
A small fire pit was still burning.

Officers knocked on the door and found a 19-year-old resident. Officers informed him that they needed to check the welfare of any underage drinkers. He said there were two friends, his younger brother and his father. His younger brother and father were asleep.
The father was upset that police were at his house without a warrant and said that there couldn't have been a party if only two other people were there.
Officers determined through the quantity of empty and partially full cans that more people must have been at the house, police said.
The 19-year-old refused to say how alcohol made its way to the party and he was arrested and charged. The two underage people at the home were released to their parents.
