Vehicle Stolen in Darien Recovered in Bronx, Arrest Made
A New Canaan man was arrested after he was found sleeping in the stolen vehicle, according to police.

DARIEN, CT- A New Canaan man was arrested after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle in the Bronx, police said.
A Grove Street resident reported that a 2016 Nissan Maxima was left parked and unlocked on the Street May 2. The complainant said the keys weren't in the vehicle, but she couldn't produce them. Her boyfriend who is the vehicle owner later provided a set of keys and said the other set was somewhere in their apartment.
On May 3 New York Police Department contacted Darien Police and said the vehicle was found in the area of Teller Avenue and 162nd Street.

Young Kirk, 19, was arrested by NYPD after he was found sleeping in the vehicle, police said. He claimed to have traded his vehicle for the Nissan. He was charged by NYPD with grand larceny of a motor vehicle and use of a vehicle without the owner's permission.
