DARIEN, CT — A recent traffic stop in Darien resulted in the discovery of a large amount of marijuana, counterfeit pills, and the arrest of a Stamford resident, according to police.

Miles Gill, 27, was charged with operation of a drug factory, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, sale of narcotic substance, illegally obtaining prescription drugs-fraud, and use of drug paraphernalia, his arrest report shows.

On June 9 at approximately 5:51 p.m., a Darien police officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Woodway Road after noticing a Ford Escape traveling southbound on Hoyt Street without front or rear license plates, and with heavily tinted windows, police said in an arrest report.

The driver, who was identified as Gill, told police the vehicle was uninsured and lacked proper registration, police noted, adding that Gill's driver's license was also suspended.

"During the stop, officers observed several bags of marijuana near the center console. Gill admitted to possessing three Percocet pills, which were later confirmed to be counterfeit and tested presumptive positive for fentanyl," police said. "A search of the vehicle revealed over one pound of marijuana packaged in 15 separate bags, a black scale, and additional paraphernalia consistent with drug distribution."
