Watch Out for Discolored Water on These Streets

Aquarion Water Co. is in Darien, street by street, a process that may result in discolored water. Each week, water mains along different streets will be flushed to clean out mineral deposits.

The water utility has said discolored water (water with a light brown tinge) may result from the overnight cleaning, but should go away quickly once water is run through a tap. They recommend not washing clothes if the water is discolored and saving water to drink beforehand.

First Selectman Jayme Stevenson has suggested that if your immune system is weak, you , which will have mineral deposits in it that are being flushed out of the pipes.
