Wave Girls Ski Team's Strong Starts from Lindell, Hart & Anderson
The Darien HS Girls Ski Team had 3 racers in the top 20 in their first two races of the year
The Darien High School Girls Ski Racing Team kicked off the season January 9th and 10th at Mt. Southington. In the first race of the year, Sophomore Sammy Lindell took 1st place out of 90 racers with a combined time of 43.98. Team Captain, junior, Devin Hart took 4th overall (45.10), with junior Lane Anderson 11th (46.47), and strong contributions from Katie Lane, Eliza Spain, Kylie Morgan & captain Sammie Berry.
The following night the girls competed again versus a larger field of 120 racers from 12 schools. Sammy Lindell again captured 1st (44.48), with Devin Hart taking 6th (45.57), and Lane Anderson 12th (46.83) to round out the top 20 racers.
Coach Brian Zeyer is "excited for the team's prospects this season." He adds: "It's great to see the younger athletes stepping up and filling in the void left by departing seniors."
The Wave Girls start the season 6-2 and compete again January 25th.
