WEATHER UPDATE: More Snow Accumulation Now Predicted For Darien
The National Weather Service has increased it's snowfall accumulation estimate from this morning.

Since early this morning the National Weather Service has upped its snowfall accumulation for the area as more cold air is expected to keep more of the precipitation as snow on Monday as opposed to mixed precipitation.
This morning the National Weather Service predicted 1-3 inches of snow and ice accumulation as the precipitation was expected to mainly be a mixed bag.
Well that’s changed and the National Weather Service is now predicting 2-5 inches of snow and up to a quarter of an inch of ice.

So the storm’s gone from a nuisance to potentially a true hazard for anyone driving in it.

A mix of snow, freezing rain and sleet will continue this evening but will transition over to mainly snow by late Monday morning, which will make travel “hazardous” the National Weather Service states.
Here’s the revised 36-hour National Weather Service forecast for Darien:
Tonight, A chance of snow before 9pm, then rain and snow likely between 9pm and midnight, then snow and freezing rain after midnight. Low around 23. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northeast wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Monday Snow and freezing rain, becoming all snow after 9am. High near 28. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northeast wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Monday Night Snow, mainly before midnight. Low around 21. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. North wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tuesday Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 33. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. North wind 11 to 15 mph.
