Some mothers and an au pair watching their charges Tuesday said they're very pleased with the playground for younger kids at Cherry Lawn Park.
"The kids love the park," Jennifer Arscott said.
"I like it a lot -- it's very nice, safe, clean," said Mary Koukoumelidis of Stamford. "It's very beautiful."
Her friend, Liz Mastrogiannis, also from Stamford, also watching her kids play, agreed. Asked what she'd change at the playground if she could, she said:
"Instead of the pavement (like a concrete sidewalk in parts of the playground), that rubber stuff -- that safe stuff." It's used in the park near the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Koukoumelidis said.
Koukoumelidis offered another suggestion: "I would love a snack shop where you can get sandwiches" and food that would appeal to kids.
Elisabeth Spreitzhofer, an au pair from Austria, said the four-year-old twins in her care like the park, and their eight-year-old brother likes the nearby playground for older kids.
