Who Sunk The Golf Cart In A Water Hazard At Wee Burn? Darien Cops Want To Know

The case of vandalism was reported July 27.

DARIEN, CT — Someone totaled a $6,000 golf cart at Wee Burn Country Club in late July, when they drove it into the water hazard at the 13th hole, according to Darien police.

The incident at the Hollow Tree Ridge Road country club, which police are calling a case of vandalism, was reported Thursday morning, July 27, when the partially submerged vehicle was discovered in the pond.

"The complainant stated that four individuals used a golf cart the day prior, leaving it parked near the 13th hole for a period of time in the afternoon," wrote Darien police in a statement. "When they returned to the golf cart, it was missing. The group reported the cart missing to the head-pro. This was not unusual as many times members take available golf carts, so no one went looking for it. At the end of the day, the club was one cart short."
