Hope in Motion, a charity race benefiting Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center, is partnering with the United States Golf Association, creating an exciting opportunity for Hope in Motion participants to win tickets to the U.S. Open Championship at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
Register for the Hope in Motion Walk or Run at www.hopeinmotion.org and donate or raise $500 or more, and be automatically entered for a chance to win two tickets to the 118th U.S. Open Championship at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on any day of the event – and have special access to the Trophy Club! There will be two winners, who will each receive two tickets.
Or come to the Hope in Motion Walk and Run on Sunday, June 3rd and take your photo with the U.S. Open Championship Trophy, which will be at Hope in Motion, and share your photo via social media to be entered into the Ultimate U.S. Open Sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to the 119th U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links!

“We are thrilled that the U.S. Open Championship Trophy Tour is stopping at Hope in Motion,” says Darien resident Liz Herbert, the run chair of Hope in Motion’s 5K and 10K runs. “Participants can take their photo with the iconic trophy and check out the special Lexus that is touring the country and driving the trophy to Shinnecock Hills Golf Club for the 118th U.S. Open Championship on June 11 to June 17. The trophy will be at the Hope in Motion Walk and Run from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 3rd.
“We’re also thankful that the United States Golf Association has donated four tickets to this year’s U.S. Open Championship to the Hope in Motion Walk and Run,” says Herbert.

The Hope in Motion Walk and Run, which takes place on National Cancer Survivor’s Day, raises money for Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center. More specifically, it raises money for much-needed patient services.
Thanks to Hope in Motion, cancer patients at Bennett Cancer Center receive free services, such as transportation to and from the hospital, relaxing and healing massages, mini-grants to cover non-medical expenses, soothing treatments like Reiki, reflexology, yoga and tai chi, workshops on how to manage their stress through cancer treatment and into survivorship and much more.
Hope in Motion’s 5K and 10K runs will both start at 8 a.m. at downtown Stamford’s Columbus Park. A 5K walk will begin at 10 a.m. at the same location.
Pre-registration for the 5K and 10K runs and the 5K walk is available at www.hopeinmotion.org until Thursday. Or, you can pre-register on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Columbus Park (near Curley’s diner). Or, you can register at the event. Same-day registration opens at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Plus, there will be generous prizes for the overall and age-group winners of the 5K and 10K runs. The overall male and female winner of the 5K will each receive a gift card to Endurance House in Norwalk, and the overall male and female winner of the 10K will each receive a pair of Beats Headphones.
