Woman, 40, Charged With Identity Theft: Darien Police

DARIEN, CT — Police said they have extradited a 40-year-old Philadelphia, Pa., woman back to Darien where she is being held on an arrest warrant that charges her with third-degree identity theft.

Colleen Kane was held on a $50,000 bond and is due in court on Sept. 9, police said.

On May 25, 2021, police responded to the 90 block of Old Kings Highway on a report of a motor vehicle burglary with a smashed car window and a stolen purse.

While officers were on scene, the victim was receiving alerts that her credit card was being used, police said in a news release.

Through a thorough investigation, detectives identified Kane as a suspect, police said.
