Woman Accused Of Being 'Lookout Driver' During Burglary: Darien Police
Darien police said a 24-year-old woman turned herself in on May 24.

DARIEN, CT — A 24-year-old woman accused of being the "lookout driver" during a January home burglary in Darien turned herself in to police on May 24, the Darien Police Department said in a news release.
Yessica Lorena Garcia-Ahumada, of Flushing, Queens, N.Y., was arrested on a warrant that charged her with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary; conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny; and second-degree criminal mischief, police said.
On Jan. 28, officers were called to a home in Darien on a report of a residential burglary alarm activation. Officers found a broken window, and noticed a small safe that contained cash was stolen, police said in a news release.

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage from neighboring homes and saw a vehicle and then "multiple suspects" enter the property, police said.
"Darien Detectives were contacted by an out of state agency regarding possible suspects relating to the burglary," police said in a news release. "Further investigation revealed that Yessica was operating a second vehicle during the burglary and was acting as the lookout vehicle."

An arrest warrant for Garcia-Ahumada was granted with a court-set bond of $100,000 on March 1.
Garcia-Ahumada is scheduled to appear in court on June 5.
