Woman Accused Of Stealing Nearly $2,900 Worth Of High-End Hair Products: Darien Police

Police said the woman was linked to a retail theft group that targeted CVS locations across Connecticut and New York.

DARIEN, CT — A 37-year-old woman accused of stealing nearly $2,900 worth of high-end haircare products last year was arrested on Jan. 17, according to the Darien Police Department.

Nicole Rivera, of the Bronx, N.Y., was placed under arrest at the York Correctional Institute in Niantic and charged with third-degree larceny, organized retail theft of less than $10,000, and conspiracy in connection with a shoplifting incident that occurred in Darien in March 2024, according to her arrest report.

On March 15, 2024, officers responded to the CVS on the Post Road in Darien on a report of a shoplifting incident.

"Surveillance footage revealed two suspects, one identified as Nicole Rivera, entering the store, filling bags with merchandise, and leaving without paying," police said in an arrest report. "The pair, linked to an organized retail theft group, have been implicated in similar crimes across Connecticut and New York, targeting CVS locations."

Subsequent investigations connected the male suspect and Rivera to thefts in multiple jurisdictions, "including arrests in Greenwich, where stolen goods and evidence of resale operations were uncovered, police said in an arrest report.

Rivera was able to post a $50,000 bond. She's scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 11.
