Expensive Rolex Watches Stolen From Home, Woman Charged: Darien Police

The stolen watches were later pawned at a shop in CT, according to police.

DARIEN, CT — A woman accused of stealing expensive Rolex watches from a home in Darien and pawning them turned herself in at police headquarters on March 31, according to the Darien Police Department.

An arrest warrant charged Shanti Recinos, 22, of Fairfield, with first-degree larceny, police said in their latest crime summary update.

On Feb. 25, officers responded to a report of jewelry theft from a home on Shady Acres Road in Darien.

"The victim reported the theft of two Rolex watches, a Milgauss and a Sea Dweller, along with their boxes and paperwork," police said, noting the items were later found to have been pawned at a shop in Stratford.

New Milgauss Rolex models can fetch up to $18,999, according to Ebay listings. The most expensive Rolex Sea Dweller on the company's website is $19,650.

"Following an investigation, including interviews and evidence collection, the suspect was identified as Shanti Recinos," police said.

Recinos was unable to post a $75,000 bond. She's scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on April 21.
