Woman Gives Darien Shop Her Name Before Stealing Items: Police

Police have a suspect in mind.

A woman inquiring about jewelry repair gave a shop her name and phone number before deciding to steal some items, according to police.

The owners of Beadz Boutique at 1094 Post Road reported that the incident happened on July 2.

The woman requested to see several high-end items in the store and asked about jewelry repair.

After she left the owners became suspicious of her activities, police said. They reviewed surveillance footage and saw that she had taken two rings and beads. The exact value of the stolen goods is unknown.

Police continue to investigate and said the suspect isn’t from Darien.
