Town officials held a groundbreaking ceremony this month.

DARIEN, CT — Work began last week on the $6.3 million renovation of the Department of Public Works garage in Darien, reports the Darien Times.

The project is necessary to replace the deteriorating and leaking garage floor and roof, remove underground fuel tanks and make improvements to the truck washing facility, among other upgrades.

Three departments use the Ledge Road garage to house vehicles and equipment, DPW, Parks and Recreation and the Board of Education.
