Darien-Norwalk YW to Offer Winter Vacation Art Workshops for Children
Artist Rowana Shepard to run workshop classes featuring presidential theme and recycled materials.

The YWCA Darien/Norwalk is holding winter vacation arts and crafts workshop classes for children, ages 5 through 11 on February 17, 18, 19 and 20. Classes will run from 9:30 to noon and children can be registered for any number of days. These ‘Use, Reuse, Recycle’ workshop classes will feature a Presidential-themed project made with recycled materials each day, and will additionally allow for free-style painting time.
Rowana Shepard, who has a Dutch College Degree in Art and has been teaching art for more than fifteen years, will run the classes. Her experience includes teaching ceramics, sculpting, painting and recycled art at an after school program in New York City, culminating annually in the NYCHA Residents art show, for which work of many of her students was chosen. Fee per class is $50 for YW members, $55 for non-members. Children should bring their own nut-free snacks. Registration is available at ywcadariennorwalk.org. For more information, please call (203) 655-2535.
